Adjust Soften and Pulse in NoiseWeave

Soften reduces brighter, higher frequencies. Pulse gently raises and lowers the volume. Use either one on an individual colour, or fine-tune a weave with the full unlock.

Step by step

  1. Choose a sound

Tap the colour swatch and choose a named sound in Colours. If you choose a weave instead, editing its sound character requires the unlock.

  2. Open Controls

Choose Controls in the sound panel. Set a comfortable Volume, press Play, and find the Soften slider below the timer settings.

  3. Adjust Soften

Move Soften up to reduce more of the brighter, higher frequencies. Move it back down for less softening. It changes the character of the sound; it is separate from overall Volume.

  4. Add a gentle pulse

Turn on Pulse. Adjust Pulse strength for the amount of volume movement and Cycle length for its speed. A cycle can last from 4 to 30 seconds. Turn Pulse off for a steady level.

Try one change at a time

Start with Brown, add a little Soften, then switch Pulse on at a low strength. A longer cycle makes the rise and fall slower. There is no required setting: choose what feels comfortable on your speakers or headphones. Saving a favourite keeps these character settings with the sound.

Where did Pulse strength go?

Pulse strength and Cycle length appear only while Pulse is on.
