Use NoiseWeave with Shortcuts and a bedtime routine

Start a named noise colour or a saved favourite with Apple Shortcuts. Add a timer and volume to the action, then use it on its own or in a routine you control.

Free colour actions · saved sounds need a favourite · iPhone & iPad

Step by step

  1. Add a NoiseWeave action

Open Apple’s Shortcuts app, create a shortcut and search the action list for NoiseWeave. Add Start colour sound or Start favourite sound.

  2. Choose what should play

Pick the colour or an existing favourite. Choose a Timer and, if wanted, Volume (%). To reuse a weave’s exact character, save it as a favourite first and use the favourite action.

  3. Test the shortcut

Run it once and check the sound, timer and volume. Stop listening stops playback; Cancel listening timer removes the timer. They are separate actions you can add to other shortcuts.

  4. Add bedtime timing, optionally

For a Sleep trigger, first set a sleep schedule in Health on your iPhone. In Shortcuts, open Automation, create a Sleep automation, and choose Wind Down Begins or Bedtime Begins. Add your NoiseWeave action or run the shortcut you created.

Keep the routine under your control

Apple may require an unlock or confirmation. Try your routine with the phone locked before relying on it, and disable it in Shortcuts whenever you want. NoiseWeave does not read Health data or create reminders. Sleep-trigger setup is an iPhone workflow; the sound actions also work in Shortcuts on iPad. Apple’s guide to Sleep and other event triggers explains the schedule requirements.

If something looks different

Why is my favourite missing?

Save it in NoiseWeave on this device first. Then return to Shortcuts and choose it in Start favourite sound.

Why did my colour sound lose its custom character?

Start colour sound starts the selected individual colour. Use Start favourite sound for a saved recipe that includes Soften and Pulse.

Why didn’t a bedtime automation run?

Check the sleep schedule, automation enablement and confirmation settings in Apple’s apps. Test it unlocked, then locked. A schedule is not a guarantee that iOS will permit background playback in every state.
